Not a typo The popular Christmas song, "Deck the Halls" begins with the words "'Tis the season to be jolly..." Poetic for "It is", and an obvious play on the popular song, as the title of the paragraph indicates in reference to the holidays.

Additional example: (past tense) = 'Twas the night before Christmas and all through...
