2) It's not 'validation'
When you plug the cable in, the system simply asks what you would like to do next...
2) Because the source text makes it quite clear what is being asked, and that it is in the form of a prompt
3) Because there is nothing in the source text to suggest that this is anything to do with the specific proprietary software you mention
4) Because we know this is all about connecting a USB cable to a mobile phone, and nothing to do with a USB key of any kind.
