Hi,
My question is regarding the term '1面先行群'.
To give a little more context, patients were randomly allocated to one of 2 groups, as seen in the phrase '観察順序(1面先行群もしくは3面先行群)を無作為に割り付けし'. Then colonoscopy was performed by full spectrum endoscopy.
So far I have found no reference to '1面先行群もしくは3面先行群', and was hoping to find some help here.
Thank you in advance.

single lens group
Could these be the number of lenses in the endoscope? It might be differentiating one-lens and three-lens endoscopy?

The link looks like a machine translation. The asker has confirmed this relates to lenses, not drugs.

Discussion
I had initially used the term 'first' but was unsure and so had changed it to preceding, but I will go and change it back thanks to your advice. Cheers.
I think preceding sounds a bit odd here. I assumed one group started with a single-lens endoscope then a three-lens endoscope and vice versa. "First" or "start" might be a more natural term for a crossover study. E.g. "Single-lens-start group" or "three-lenses-first group". I've added a few well written examples of this below. That said if it's mentioned previously that both types of endoscope were used in all groups, I'd name the groups the "single-lens group" and "three-lens group" for brevity.
