French term
forcées
French to English
Tech/Engineering
Computers: Software
"Les valeurs des résultats pour les sections de classe 1 ou 2 sont forcées à zéro."
I'm not sure whether, in an IT context, the word used would be "forced", but have a feeling that there is another, standard way of expressing this.

forced
I like forced in this context. It is a perfectly good programming term and it reinforces the concept that, in these circumstances, the value will always be set to zero even if there is some other value available in the database.

Comment: "This is absolutely right. There would be values entered but by zeroing data set A, the values for the data set B can be evaluated independently of A ."

fixed (or set) at zero
It sounds as if those values (whatever they are) are set at zero to pfovide a base.

Assuming this is automatic and systematic, not done manually under certain circumstances ...

: Default means it will be zero if there is no other value supplied. In this case, it is always zero regardless.

That is certainly the standard case. But it simply means you tell the program to enter 0 if a certain case is or is not met (no value, non-numerical value, etc.). You can also tell your program to default to zero even it it calculates a numerical value.
