This is from a review of an "erfrischend absurde" dance piece:
"Eine ordnet Schallplatten, der letzte spielt im Cowboydress Gitarre oder reitet auf ihr durch den Raum. Sein strahlendes Gesicht ist einer der Running Gags des Abends. Menschlicher Berg Aus dieser Auslege-Unordnung heraus entwickeln sich die einzelnen Szenen. Überraschung reiht sich an Überraschung."
Anyone who wants to have a stab at the sentence in which "Auslege-Unordnung" appears would be my friend forever.

mess spread out
My guess (and nothing but a guess!) goes in a slightly different direction. Could it be that there's a bit of a mess spread all over the stage (records in disarray, someone jumping around riding a guitar, a pile of people)?
I mean it's an odd way of expressing it, but you know what journalists are like: always searching for new ways of putting the same old things into words.

you're right there - must admit I didn't think too much about the actual wording, my main intention was to throw another idea into the quiz game arena for the asker to consider...

It seems to me that the term is referring to the the development: "from the initial chaos of random characters, various scenes (vignetes?) take form."
