German term

Anlagenbau

German to English Tech/Engineering Automation & Robotics
Fa. xy entwickelt und produziert vollständige Automatisierungssysteme für den Maschinen- und Anlagenbau

This word is the subject of an ongoing debate between myself and the marketing dept. I see it as "machine and systems manfacturing. But the marketing people want to translate Anlagenbau as plant building, which I think is incorrect in this context. Clarification would be greatly appreciated.
Proposed translations (English)

auf keinen Fall "plant building", maximal plant construction, but I like your systems better

yes, I would say so
Note from asker:
But is that valid when referring to the manufacture of automation hard and software for machines and automated assembly/process lines?
Is there any context where Anlagebau would be interpreted as system design/configuration/manufacturing
