German term

fenstern

German to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Software Software
Software instructions for a hospital PACS system.

Can this be "windowing"? (The user interface is windows based and images need to be displayed on several partitioned monitors)

window definition

Windowing seems a little too techy for the average user (ditto for "window parameterization"
Peer comment(s):

agree Tobi : yes, but windowing could be possible since fenstern sounds as a direct translation from windowing

It's much better to be "too clear" than too abstruse in such cases, IMHO
agree jccantrell : My choice, too. Sounds like they had the developer also write the instructions!

agree Hilary Davies Shelby : yes, but I would use the active voice as this is an instruction manual "You can define windows in a number of different ways".

Good idea.
agree Manfred Mondt : I actually thought she meant "fensterln", that is against the law!
