German term
Begegnungsschule
German to English
Social Sciences
Education / Pedagogy
This seems to be a term referring to "dual nationality" schools such as "German-Czech" or "German-Lebanese", where the pupils take a German Abitur and the local exams as well.
But I can't find a general term to refer to them. Help!!

international school
These are simply known as ‘international schools’ in English. The term ‘binational school’ would not be immediately understood.

The general pattern is to refer to them as ‘the British School in…’, http://www.bst.ac.jp/
‘the American School in…’ http://www.asl.org/

The 2-cents reply is: "In a word, no. But maybe with a sentence."

'Dual-curriculum school' would describe this system well but the term seems to have been appropriated by USE for a particular type of faith school.

I am not sure whether the two 'agrees' so far posted are for 'bilingual school’ or for ‘binational school’.
‘Bilingual schools’ misses the point here. These will be found in Canada, Wales, Switzerland etc, in any country where there is more than one national language community. (How about a ‘Begegnungsschule’ in Vienna?)
According to the context given, this is about working towards two different final examinations, i.e. following two parallel national curricula.
As I said (at 6 mins) ‘binational school’ would not be immediately understood. I did not say it could not be used, especially if it were accompanied by an explanation.

Note from asker:
The $64m. question is, can they be distinguished from other types of international schools? |

Comment: "Andrew gets the points for:
The 2-cents reply is: "In a word, no. But maybe with a sentence."
I agree that "agrees" should be clearer when a proposer has more than one alternative. But I also agree that Andrew's tone was a bit unfriendly.

At least in Canada and Switzerland, International Schools are intended to teach an international curriculum rather than a local one and the main langugage used is definitely English

: Congratulations on your growing tally of ‘agrees’ although it is not clear which of your two answers they are supporting. The third one even proposes an answer that could have been posted in its own right.
