German term

Abwechslung anbieten

German to English Marketing Media / Multimedia Apps
Hi internet translator friends,

I am translating a road safety app and would really appreciate some help/suggestions for "Abwechslung anbieten", as seen in the sentence below. Finding the balance between idiomatic expression and not writing my own copy is proving tough. To be perfectly honest, I am considering contacting the client to ask for an alternative version of the sentence that might give me a bit more Spielraum.

Original – Darüber hinaus bieten interaktive Bestandteile, wie zum Beispiel ein Verkehrs-Quiz oder ein Verkehrszeichen-Scanner, Abwechslung.

Translation – In addition, the app’s interactive features, including a traffic quiz and a road sign scanner, XXXXXXXX.

I look forward to your suggestions and comments.

Many thanks in advance!

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

offer variety

... or "offer a varied experience" which may be a bit heavy but at least in the US there's a lot of buzz about "experience"/"experiencing" (not in the sense of "acquired knowledge").
Note from asker:
I like your suggestion: it's idiomatic and doesn't stray far from the original. Thanks for posting.

liven up the experience

At last, an interesting question...

Compare with example below:

"There are many things that can be done to ‘liven up’ the experience of using an app."

offer a diversity

On top of it all the app offers a diversity of interactive features/programs such as a traffic quiz and a road-sign scanner.

additional/further/more variety OR Additional interactive features include...

More/additional/further variety is provided by interactive features, such as a traffic quiz and a road sign scanner.

I personally would simply say:

Additional interactive features include a traffic quiz and a road sign scanner
