@lirka As an "Austrian by choice", you might be the person to tell whether this is about insurance coverage, or just administrative, organisational or customary rehab programs? (Insurances tend to follow the administrative schedules that organisations have defined as 'medically indicated', so it may be all the same, I guess.)

session An *Einheit* (unit) is 45 or 50 minutes of a therapeutic session. In some instances, patient and therapist might opt to do a double session (90/100) minutes. Your sentence means that, in Austria, outpatient rehabilitation (reintegration?) programmes cover the same number of sessions as inpatient programmes. So, if you are fit to leave the hospital, you need not worry about getting fewer sessions than you would, had you stayed. The insurance in question would be (compulsory) Austrian "Sozialversicherung".

@Susan Doesn't your context reveal whether the term is referring to the time a patient spends in treatment (sessions), or the time the insurance covers (units)? A coon's age ago, when I was in therapy in the States, both my prescription and my insurance spoke of sessions. Don't mean to harp on this, but it's my experience....

Don't think 'sessions' would fit in an insurance context, IMHO the notion of 'unit' should be preserved in some fashion or other.

Sessions? or is that too dated? Even with insurance payment, the amount a ptient must contribute is also per session (10% usually)

Or perhaps along the lines of "instances of treatment", i.e. the number of times patients are treated in this specific context and during the stated period?
"visits/consultations" / "units of therapy"

It's not about the number of facilities, but a comparison of inpatient with outpatient facilities. So it is the "units of treatment" patients receive -- but what does that mean? (Another translation in a Proz personal glossary is "treatment session," but that seems less likely to me.) I think this is about insurance.

Need more to go on IMO "treatment units" could denote both facilities where one receives treatment, as well as the individual "units of treatment" patients might receive.
Still, tending toward "treatment facilities/centers" or similar.
