German term

Trittschlange

German to English Tech/Engineering Safety
The text is about safety harnesses and the use thereof when working at heights.

The full sentence reads:

"Während des Hängens im Gurt bewegen bzw. Hilfsmittel zur Entlastung, z.B. Trittschlangen, verwenden."

Sadly Google doesn't help me with this one at all. Does anyone have any ideas?

You're right!
Roddy Tannahill (asker) Jul 14, 2020:
As far as I understand it, it means "While you're hanging in the harness, move around or use strain relief equipment, e.g. XXX" - the idea being, I suppose, not to cut off your blood supply or get pins and needles in a leg or something... Perhaps? :)
philgoddard Jul 14, 2020:
I find the whole sentence tricky. I'm not clear what "bewegen" or "Entlastung" mean.

foot sling

Maybe
Use this special strap as a foot sling to keep the blood circulation flowing after a fall and prevent suspension trauma from setting in. This foot sling is rolled up tightly and simply attached to the front of your safety harness so that you can easily reach it.
