From a text dealing with underground storage of natural gas:

Zum Ende der Auslagerungsperiode und zum Ende der Injektionsperiode sind die Entnahmeleistungen bzw. Injektionsleistungen abhängig vom noch verfügbaren bzw. schon injizierten Arbeitsgas reduziert. Die folgende Grafik zeigt schematisch den Verlauf der Entnahmeleistung ("Entnahmekennlinie").

The "Kennlinie" in question is simply a straight line which dips twice on a graph with the x/y axes "Entnahmeleistung" and "Arbeitsgasvolumen".

Any ideas as to how "Kennlinie" might be translated? Characteristic line for example?
(The term used for "Entnahme" in such contexts is "withdrawal").
