Norwegian term
endringsoppsigelse
Norwegian to English
Other
Human Resources
Context: Staff policy regarding notices of dismissal.
Here's a good explanation of the term http://www.arbeidsmiljo.no/xp/pub/hoved/tidsskrift/temaer/ar... . I found one translation of the term to "dismissal on work content change" (http://www.ub.uib.no/elpub/Rokkan/N/N12-05.pdf ), but do not particularly like it.
Has anyone come across this term in labour law before?

Redundancy and suitable alternative employment
Redundancy with an offer of suitable alternative employment
I don´t know if you can use anything like this?
http://www.netlawman.co.uk/info/redundancy-alternative-emplo...
Redundancy implies that the job no longer exists or that there is not enough work for all those employed to do it.
There is more discussion here, and you will find lots that may or may not be useful if you google redundancy and alternative employment.

: I agree. Redundancy is the term, and a Redundancy Package is an alternative term for the new job offer

Thanks, I'm noting that for my own reference - it is sure to come up. I think you should suggest ´Redundancy package´ as a separate answer, so that you get the points.

Comment: "I see that this is a possible translation, though not sure that this is exactly what is meant in my context. As my reference text implies, this is a somewhat grey area. Will have to check with client. But thanks, Christine and Jeffrey for your input."
Discussion
Also, I'm not sure that "redundancy" would be correct here because the reason for this type of dismissal appears to be based on changes to the employment contract.
I think I'm going to have to take this up with the client.
