with the limited context you have given there are at least TWO likely interpretations of what this "run-up" could be, and also the very unlikely "proba motora", which would be more a translation for "testing the engine" (there is no mention of the engine, nothing to indicate for sure that it's the "run-up" of the engine)

As this is the continuation from the previous text from which it is obvious what kind of "run-up" is in question, the writer rightly didn't bother to make it explicit, but whoever tries to answer your question can not guess it.
