agree Helen Johnson : For sponges, etc. it's usually called batter. I think dough's for heavier (e.g. fruit) cakes, and bread of course

agree EC Translate : Not sure if there is a difference in Swedish between batter and dough, but it is in Norwegian. Batter is "røre" and dough is "deig", i.e. if there is a difference, then dough batch should be correct here:o)
