'Förare', in a forestry context is an operator, ie, machine operator.

Plamen certainly sees his context In this situation we are not involved in an exercise in linguistics. The forestry industry has a term (or 2) for just about everything. And here it is pretty clear the terms are used quite specifically.

maybe use 'tracks' Following on from Eva P's remarks, you could use 'tracks' as vehicles and animals leave tracks which become 'defined' and so are used again and again. Possibly what is happening here as the harvester tries to get from one main road to another.

Context!! Michaels comment asks for more, but... I see this mentions a 'förare' in a forestry...timber... context. We can ask for a clarification of what kind of 'förare' this is, but in the forestry context we're not talking just any kind of automobile driver -- when is the last time any of us had to 'orientera sig i beståndet'?
