grace-period insurance for lapsed premiums
Forget-me-not insurance may be vivid, but less technical-sounding.

: that is precisely what it means, but only someone as knowledgeable and experienced as Tom would know that such an insurance exists! Follow-up comment: yes, "grace period" but as a seperate insurance policy, does it really exist?

Thanks Charles. The website shows it does in the US as a forbearance, much the same way as it does in the UK. In fact, the arrangement - rather than sep. ins. - must exist in most countries. Otherwise, forgetful policyholders would be left high-and-dry.

Contingency insurance
There is no UK equivalent, so I would suggest the above, with an appropriate note.
