I worked as a commercial lawyer in the UK for more than ten years, specialising in technology and data protection law.

I have a degree in Scots law, but also studied French language at University level and obtained a one-year diploma in French law from Université Pierre-Mendès-France in Grenoble.

I am now a DipTrans-certified French to English translator, with a particular interest in financial and legal texts, including those falling within my areas of legal expertise i.e. technology law and e-commerce, data protection and privacy, intellectual property and commercial contracts.

Since 2018, I have been translating legal documents for the Court of Justice of the European Union.

I also have experience in translating technical, market-related content and general content in the asset management field, including articles for publication, fund literature and marketing materials.

In addition, I have a working knowledge of international development terminology and related translation issues as a result of the volunteer translation work which I have done through the United Nations system, in particular for the United Nations Development Programme.
