Translation Workspace - Failed to activate plugin (Could not load Translation Workspace DLL)

I am just migrating to a new computer (HP ProBook 450 G5 with Windows 10 Pro).

After installing Translation Workspace XLIFF Editor, I get the following error message each time when starting the application:

Built in plugin error

Failed to load built in plugin(s):
Failed to activate plugin: "dll_client" reason: "Could not load Translation Workspace DLL".


I can click on OK, and then the program starts as normal. I'm not sure that all

Same problem on Dell PC Jul 11, 2019

Did you ever manage to fix this?
I just reinstalled Windows and am now encountering the same issue
It seems to be working as normal, but I am nervous that some functionalities will be impaired.

I actually found a solution. I got this from a client's support:



Have user do a clean install. Below is the template that can be used for this purpose:

Please uninstall Xliff Editor and Translation Workspace client/tools.

Also please remove following folders:

C:\Users\%UserAccount%\AppData\Roaming\Translation Workspace

C:\Users\%UserAccount%\AppData\Roaming\Translation Workspace XLIFF Editor

C:\ProgramDat

C:\ProgramData\Translation Workspace XLIFF Editor

C:\Program Files (x86)\Lionbridge\Translation Workspace XLIFF Editor or C:\Program Files\Lionbridge\Translation Workspace XLIFF Editor

C:\Users\%UserAccount%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP ------ Here please remove WorkspaceForWord.dot and WorkspaceForWord.dotm

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\STARTUP

After that please download from translate.translationworkspace.com:

- Translation Workspace Tools client

- Translation Workspace Xliff Editor

and install them in that order.

Please let us know if this helps.


NOTE: The described steps will reset any TW Plugin configuration changes back to their default settings.
