Freelancer Summit starts tomorrow
Take your seats for tomorrow's Freelancer Success Summit! No need for registration or even to be a member. All you need to do is show up tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday between 1pm and 8pm GMT, and take advantage of a wide variety of insightful seminars.
The programme has been designed to address both professional issues, such as how we make the best of this crisis period to rethink our business strategy and reach out to new clients, and personal angles, such as how to work on your mental and physical wellbeing through meditation, yoga, and breathing exercises. The two go hand in hand, especially in times of unusual stress. And that certainly applies to many people in the current circumstances. This opportunity to reset comes just at the right time, so please take advantage!

Yoga at your desk
This session, presented by Elena Jiménez Alvarez, helps you stretch your body, support your posture and ease pressure on your wrists.
It's especially designed for people who spend long periods of time sitting in front of a desk or typing. All welcome. No previous yoga experience needed. Elena is a qualified Mexican Spanish translator, voiceover artist, yoga coach, digital entrepreneur, and Mum. Based in the UK, she is particularly fond of projects that spark creativity and bring about positive change. She is the founder of Yoga para emprendedores and Yoga for digital entrepreneurs.

Interpreting and RSI
"How to deliver quality interpreting services through Remote Simultaneous Interpretation platforms?"
This session, presented by Cyril Bel-Ange, explores how, during this period, we need to quickly set up the hardware and software we need to provide remote simultaneous interpreting services to our clients under shock.

Resilience in uncertain times
Patrícia Cardoso Ferreira explores how the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting our personal and professional lives, offering us days of a doubtful present and future, where we have to wake up every morning with renewed hope and resilience skills. Well, it’s comforting to know that we can give a meaning to all of this and together talk about and share worries, doubts, resources and tools on how to emotionally cope with these difficult and challenging times and to make our system more hopeful and resilient.

Localization in an online world
Join Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey Associate Professor of Professional Practice; Program Chair, Translation and Localization Management Max Troyer for this presentation. Professor Troyer, chair of MIIS Translation and Localization Management (TLM) programs, discusses how you can develop your language, business, technical, and intercultural competence through on-site and online programs to quickly advance your career in the fast-growing language services industry.

Tech-savvy terminology for interpreters
Have you ever seen colleagues deftly navigating electronic glossaries and pulling up the right term in no time flat and wondered: How can I do that? Alexander Drechsel and Josh Goldsmith from techforword.com are here to help. In this webinar, you'll learn: Why to go digital? Where to research terminology? How to build glossaries collaboratively? How to design visual glossaries? How to use interpreter-specific terminology management tools? How to extract terminology from parallel documents.

Retraining for remote interpreting
Claudia Brauer will launch a free 14-day Challenge to retrain interpreters for remote interpreting (language-neutral, instructed in English).
This workshop provides a set of 14 daily informational sessions (20 minutes each) with skills-building exercises for interpreters to complete in the course of the following 12 hours (2 hours of "homework" per day). An additional commitment is required, to complete a "live" monitored practice of at least eight (8) hours by April 30.
