So I’ve just opened up WFP 5 this morning and it asks me if I want to create a new project, I say “no” because I just want to continue working on the project I was working on yesterday and then it shows me the project screen with no projects… I was keeping about 30 projects on my list, maybe more, what happened? Where are they?

Also don't know if relevant but it appears Dragon Naturally Speaking 15 has also crashed and I will have to re-install...

Translatorgeddon!

Help!!!

Maria Pilar

PS Yes I laugh but it's not really funny I'm losing time here and help would be much appreciated...

Let's hope they're somewhere. Install Everything and then perform a search for "project.wf4" to check if they're somewhere else than in the usual place.

They’re still on your hdd, you’ve just got to manually add them.

This has happened to me a couple of times.

No big deal, just go add local project and direct to the folder where each project had been saved on your drive.

They’re not wiped from your computer, just from the list.

Good luck!

I seem to have lost all my projects between mid Aug of this year to today’s date…

Hello Maria.

Judging by your description, you don't use regular backups, say, to a USB stick, a network disk, or an external medium, alas. It's the very first serious problem.

If you worked the previous day alright and made no big changes to the system, then it may be:
1) a hardware issue (e.g. a wearing out HDD/SSD, a bad power supply, oxidized pins/connections);
2) a software issue (e.g. a bad system/software update/failure after a wry restoring, a cleanin

1) a hardware issue (e.g. a wearing out HDD/SSD, a bad power supply, oxidized pins/connections);
2) a software issue (e.g. a bad system/software update/failure after a wry restoring, a cleaning application, a changed user account/access rights, a malware);
3) a combination of above.

Depending on your system, maintenance, and PC skills you can
1) check for the most recent system restore points;
2) read the system logs;
3) ask some IT specialist nearby.

Good luck

Finding project folders Dec 10, 2018

Maria,

There is a high chance you have saved it in different location than the one mentioned here. Do a system level search for project.wf4 and every file that you find is inside a folder which is your project folder. Also to re-add project you may have to delete application.settings and application.settings.sfc from (C:) >Users > maria_000 > WordFastPro >

Thank you,

John
