French term or phrase: Bouchain avant bâbord
It is referring to a damaged part of a boat. i know Babord refers to 'port' - the left side of a boat, but any help on the specific term would be most welcome.

mais pour la position avant le mieux serait de préciser l'emplacement de l'enfoncement par rapport aux couples.. between fr 107-108 par exemple..

bouchain avant bâbord
chine, forward, on port side

Explanation:
Since the chine runs basically all round the craft, one can't refer to it as if it were one of several; rather, we need to describe which particular part of the whole 'chine' is damaged — hence why I believe this would be a more idiomatic way of expressing it in appropriate technical EN.
