required factors for calculating gear strength Explanation: The calculation of gear strength does not seem to be straight forward, as you see from this German article: http://www.kisssoft.ch/deutsch/downloads/ISODINvsAGMA.pdf Different standards require different factor values for calculating parameters associated with gear strength. All these parameters are about "Verzahnung" (the teeth in the gear) and the factors are "Sicherheiten". |

Reference Reference information: "gearing safeties" seems to be o.k., as there is a "safety factor" in the reference below (among many other factors) However, there is also a reference to "gear accuracy", which corresponds more to my impression that "Verzahnungssicherheit" is more about reliability (i.e. how well the teeth interlock) and not so much about safety.
