Hi everyone,

I am having trouble figuring out a suitable translation for "Verzahnungssicherheiten". This is from a text related to the threshold values and "Sicherheiten" of a gearing system.

Example: Bei der Kranbaureihe XF.C gelten die Verzahnungssicherheiten gemäß Wesilab.

I am not really sure about using "gearing safeties", doesn't sound right to me. Any ideas?

required factors for calculating gear strength


Explanation:
The calculation of gear strength does not seem to be straight forward, as you see from this German article: http://www.kisssoft.ch/deutsch/downloads/ISODINvsAGMA.pdf
Different standards require different factor values for calculating parameters associated with gear strength. All these parameters are about "Verzahnung" (the teeth in the gear) and the factors are "Sicherheiten".

Reference information:
"gearing safeties" seems to be o.k., as there is a "safety factor" in the reference below (among many other factors)

However, there is also a reference to "gear accuracy", which corresponds more to my impression that "Verzahnungssicherheit" is more about reliability (i.e. how well the teeth interlock) and not so much about safety.
