Born and raised in Munich, I discovered my fascination for language early on through my passion for stories. The fact that most of the movies, TV shows and video games were foreign productions
which had received a German dubbing, while a good chunk of the books I
read were translations, was a huge incentive to learn English for me.
Another passion that had a strong influence on me was traveling and experiencing different cultures. After finishing school, I spent a year in Canada splitting time between traveling the country and working. It was not only the first time spending extensive time abroad but also my first work experience in a translation-related job - both things which I would repeat later on. Moreover, it confirmed my decision to pursue studying translation and a career in the field.
During my studies, I spent more time abroad in Spain and the UK gaining more work experience and insight into foreign cultures.
After finishing my MA in translation, a job opportunity to work for a language service providing all kinds of translation work for Apple, made me return to Munich which has been my home base ever since. Throughout all of my jobs, I always worked in a dynamic and creative environment with a highly international and young team.
This experience is what I also like to offer my clients as a freelancer now - providing a very personal, out-of-the-box service that remains professional at all times.
