Hello Ana,

hope everything goes well.
The reason why I am writing you is because we have to do a project in
Portugal from 18th August up to the end of the month and, as you are one of
the few people I know in Lisbon, I wanted to contact you to ask you if you
could help me out with a couple of issues.

First of all, we need to find out if there are different types of Iberian
Portuguese in Portugal as this project involves some recordings we have to
do in Portuguese for a voice recognition software. We are now doing this
project in Spanish, and for that, we have to cover different types of
accents in Castillian Spanish (from the North down to the South of spain).
Later on, we will have to do the same for Portuguese but we need to check up
first if there are a lot of differences between the Portuguese that is
spoken in the North, Center and South of Portugal or if we could find all
the different accents in Lisbon without having to go to the North and South
of Portugal to do the recordings.
Also, once we know if there are a lot of differences regarding accents in
Portugal, we need to contact people who will be willing to do a 45 minute
script recording for the amount of 25 EUR. For that, I thought that maybe
you or your family and friends could be interested. We need to record 25
female voices and 25 male voices ranging from 20 up to 60 years old.
I do not know if you will be in Lisbon for those days, but if you are, I
would be happy to meet you and see if you are willing to participate in some
of the recordings.
