endorsements = reclamecontracten

Endorsements refers to a professional player endorsing a product, e.g. top cricketers endorse cricket bats, top tennis players endorse tennis rackets. Go to a sports shop and you'll most likely see tennis rackets with illegible signatures on them and a picture of a grinning tennis star.

You only get asked to endorse a product if you're good, hence it's used as a measure of success.
