@ Paul There is surely more context, e.g. the application. It is a stapler? It is a lapping machine? Is it a warehouse or storing place for pallets? If yes, what has lapping to do with pallets? Or did you consider typing errors? Did you ask the client for explanation? What did he answer?

This is about transferring tensile stress from one bar or column or beam to another. It has to be done somewhere around the middle of the bar or column or beam, or the lapping zone.
