Spanish term

Gestión de siniestros/Gestión de reclamaciones

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Insurance
Two items in a list of services offered by a (Spanish) brokerage/fund management copmpany

I've seen and translated "Gestión de siniestros" as "Claims management", which would also seem to be the translation for the second term.

Would "settlement management" for "Gestión de reclamaciones" be an acceptable way of distinguishing between these two terms?

Discussion

Sergio Kot Nov 26, 2014:
Siniestro/Reclamaciones "Siniestro" refers to the event that caused the "reclamaciones", hence their meaning is not the same. "Gestión de siniestros" may or may not include "gestión de reclamaciones".

loss management / claims management

I would be more inclined to change the first term to loss management rather than use settlement. On the other hand, are you sure they are two separate services here? This could just be the Spanish providing two terms for the same thing in case people don't know what the first is.

If in doubt, ask the client. They'll probably know which terms they prefer.

Claims/complaint management

I've always seen "siniestros" as claims and "reclamaciones" as claims or complaints. I think you can use the two words (and get rid of the repetition of mgmt).
