I.e. not adding any folklore romanticism or national romanticism etc.
---
\"Folklorism as a phenomenon becomes part of the research agenda, and folklorist Magne Velure writes:

\"...We are talking about phenomena that once were connected with what we call the peasant society, and that had specific functions. These cultural elements are today, disconnected from their natural and original context, \'nurtured\', kept alive, with new functions and usually with a new content. Reproduction of certain aspects of the culture of the peasant society is today found all over Europe, and a name for this phenomenon is folklorism\"
(Velure 1972:4) (Original text)

Similar views are also voiced by folk music researchers, perhaps most clearly by Ola-Kai Ledang, who on many occasions criticised what he saw as national-romantic and archaic views in folk music research\"

whatever you decide to use, anythibg with Folklore in English is Plain and Utterly Wrong...

we do not ever use this like this in English and I can\'t right now think of how to say it. But, for sounding ridiculous in Enlgish, folklore used in this way is right up there!!

Cheers

perhaps: without any colorful extras...something along those lines..
Peer comment(s):

agree Robert Allwood : I agree w/explanation, but I think the sense here is better expressed by something like 'without making it into something quaint'. (Hint: check French folkorique!)
