Discussion

Betty Den Herder (asker) Sep 15, 2005:
certificats de radiation The full sentence is:

It is a real estate term or legal contract term. I don't believe it has anything to do with levels of radiation.
mdcdc Sep 14, 2005:
How about giving us a full sentence?

certificate of satisfaction of mortgage

Marie is right. This certificate, which a vendor has to provide, guarantees that the property is unencumbered i.e. that any previous mortgage has been paid in full.

agree Marie Gomes : I think that's it :-)

agree Sylvia Smith : Just a thought - if this has to do with certifying that radiation levels are acceptable, you may want to add "safety" or "testing" at the end.

Comment: "That is the literal translation but what does it mean?"

Radier signifie to disbar, to charge off.

Attendez donc d'autres suggestions.

vacating certificates

Check out www.granddictionnaire.com under French>English. "certificat de radiation" gives "vacating certificate". Also have a look at the below for what it actually is; there is no mention of radiation of the X-ray type.
Peer comment(s):

agree Adrian MM. (X) : certificate of discharge in the UK.
