water profile

This answer is going to contradict other opinions so far, but I read it as the water profile (of the soil) the plant species/tree needs, not, therefore the "perfil hidrico" (sorry, no accents) of the plant/tree itself.

the way it behaves in water

A bit cumbersome I know, but I can't think of a neater way of saying 'how it behaves in/around water and wet areas', which i think is basically what you're trying to say here, right?
