There is an English version of this page but it is wrong and actually describes another of the machines.
Can anyone help with "placas"? Is it referring to the form/material of the conveyor? Sheet? Plate?

Various grades of chromium carbide plate are manufactured to meet the most demanding of applications covering heavy abrasion, high temperatures, chemical attack or corrosion.
Production is carried out within closely monitored parameters - more than 25 separate checks are made on hardness and thickness during manufacture to guarantee consistent product quality and ensure the latest ISO quality standards are met.
Ace 600 Wearplate can be supplied in a range of sizes and thickness, with optional thickness ratios of hardfacing to backing plate also available on thicknesses over 10mm.
Fixing is easily achieved by conventional welding, countersunk bolts or with stud fixings onto the mild steel backing plate.
As part of the overall service offered by Ace Arc, a special design/cladding service is also available where wearplates have specific needs, for instance a 'double layer'on a feed or impact point.

A typical problem with ambiguity in this field ;.) in Spanish; they often use the word "perfil" to refer to various different conveyor belt parts too. If the belt has vertical plates to stop the load falling back on inclines, these are called "flights" in English. Otherwise, the plates may refer to the modular pieces that make up the belt itself. the link might not be for a quarry but I acted as an interpreter in a quarry and the native English speaker (American) kept talking about slabs!!

I don't know what you'd call it in English, but I'm sure 'alimentador de placas' refers to the construction of the moving conveyor at the bottom of the machine, formed from solid steel plates driven by a chain and sprocket mechanism (like a bulldozer track). 'de placas' in your text is to distinguish this 'alimentador' from other types of feeder using a continuous flexible belt, screw feed, for example. It's not what the machine conveys - it's the form of construction of the machine.
