Spanish term

desfase al alza

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) cost of project
En junio de 2007 se asignaba a este trabajo (construction work) un valor de €10.000.000,00, (but now it's costing €12.500.000,00) o sea, tenemos en estos momentos un desfase al alza respecto de las previsiones hechas hace un año de aproximadamente € 2.500.000,00.

I have been thinking about using discrepancy, but would that be a positive or a negative discrepancy? Or should I use a different term?

Many thanks for your help

gone over budget by...(see below)

Just another way of expressing it but changing things around a bit. Though I´m not sure who did the costing and who was quoted,
it could be something like:

In June 2007 the (building work) was budgeted for €10.000.000,00. However/as it currently stands, we have already gone over budget /this figure by approximately € 2.500.000,00.
