Hola, estoy traduciendo un texto the Charles Dickens "The old curiosity shop" y tengo lo siguiente:
"A long way, wasn't it Kit?" said the old man
"Why, then, it was a goodish stretch, master," said Kit
"Did you find the house easily?"
"Why, then, not over and above easy, master," said Kit
"Are you humgry?"
"Why, then, I do consider myself rather so, master,"
Why, then, me complica un poco.
Espero me puedan ayudar, gracias de antemano

"Why, then,..." es una antigua forma de hablar (que aún hoy se utliza en ciertas partes de Gran Bretaña (e.g. zonas de Gales, Irlanda, etc.) que sólo quiere decir, "Bueno,..."

Para mejor capturar el sentido y el ritmo, propongo "Bueno, pues" porque "then" es basicamente "entonces"; "pues" y "bueno" puede ser un tanto regional.
