Läsion ist hier die Karies selbst, ich lerne dazu. Im übrigen die einzige brauchbare Quelle, die ich gefunden habe, besagt

Das legt nahe, zwischen initialer Karies/Läsion und Ersatzläsion zu unterscheiden

Der Bezug ist hier zwar offenbar -> lesion, aber das kann man so auch ableiten, s. hier:

Demnach wäre die Kariesläsion diejenige vor der erneuten Versorgung - kann man sich z.B. bei dem Ersatz einer ersten Amalgam-Füllung durch ein moderneres Material vorstellen.

Nein, sorry, ich bin nicht einverstanden mit dieser Lösung (einmal abgesehen davon, dass *I*nitial so in einem deutschen Text nicht stehen kann, soll das heißen: "... sowohl Initial- als auch Replacement-Läsionen"?
Wenn ja, wo ist ein relevanter deutscher Text, der Replacement-Läsion (oder irgendeine Formulierung mit Replacement) in Verbindung mit Karies verwendet?
