Spanish term

Por la boca muere el pez.

Spanish to English Art/Literary Idioms / Maxims / Sayings saying
Sure, I know what it means. By talking too much we can set traps for ourselves.

I'm looking for an equivalent or near-equivalent in English for a self-help lesson.

Thanks, Alan

A fly can't get into a closed mouth.

I've heard these and they seem to fit here.
