English term

no slip grips

English to French Marketing Medical: Instruments survey about glucometers
This is from a survey about glucometers (devices used by diabetics to measure their blood glucose).

The question asks respondents to pick the most important features out of a list which includes:

Small size
Large display
New (contemporary) style
5 second test time
Backlit display
No slip grips

among other things.

It's for French for CANADA.

I considered many translations, but none seem an exact match:

surfaces antiglisse (implies that the entire surface is no-glip--which isn't the case. It would just be the parts on the side where you hold the glucometer).

poignées antiglisse (which implies that the device has knobs, and it does not)

grips antidérapant (which I think would be fine for France but I'm not sure about Canada)

prise en main antiglisse (but I was worried that "prise en main" also had a different meaning, i.e. "actions par lesquelles ont apprend à employer un outil" ).

Does anyone have any insights on what the correct translation would be for Canada? Thanks in advance!

Discussion

SJLD Dec 2, 2009:

new idea What about "zones antidérapantes pour une meilleure prise en main". It's much wordier than "no slip grips" but I want to be sure the meaning is very clear. Any thoughts?

En français de France, antidérapant est plus réservé à la marche.
