Discussion

jmf (asker) Mar 15, 2010:
It might... Unfortunately the text is pretty short and the focus really is on the vegetation. I'm going to read through a few times to see if I can tie reconformación to the revegetation (or something). Thanks so much!
Bubo Coroman (X) Mar 15, 2010:
thanks for the additional context... do you think "reconformación del lugar" might refer back to "la revegetación de 1996" or a similar milestone in the farm's history when the farm, or at least the use of the land, was reorganized?
jmf (asker) Mar 15, 2010:
Thank you The study is on the condition of vegetation is the area and is pretty short; here is the preceding text:

traductorchile Mar 15, 2010:
Apparently the term "reconformación" doesn't relate to the information in the rest of the phrase but to information in previous phrases. I believe further previous phrases/context would be useful.
Bubo Coroman (X) Mar 15, 2010:
do you know if animals were present on the site... previously or have they been recently introduced? If so, "reconformación" may refer to a change of agricultural use of the land from arable (crops) to pastoral (grazing animals), or at least some change to the previous farming activity. A translation might be "after the change of farming activity in the place". Looking forward to your comments.

Thanks for all that interesting context. I stand by my suggestion. "Disturbed site" and "disturbed soil" are common expressions in agricultural science and horticulture. Note the following examples:

The addition text confirms my position. I don't think it could be anything else but 'disturabance of the site'.
