Vous avez raison les 2 en même temps cela fait un peu long, il faut rester lapidaire et "accrocher", donc si ma solution est retenue j'adopterai "Le Mans incontournable", après tout c'est synonyme de "must".

So then, who is the "can't let go" referring to? Maybe it isn't the spectators... could it be that the race itself cannot manage to get away from Le Mans? Look at the way the Paris-Dakkar had to become the Dakkar, once it managed to"let go" of Paris!
I think we need to know quite a bit more about the content of the paragraph that follows in order to understand what they're really getting at here...
2) Le texte original en anglais a été traduit en allemand, et je dois le traduire en fr. (je prends toujours le texte original et m'inspire éventuellement de la traduction)
Si je comprends bien, le texte anglais fait l'objet d'une trad 1. en allemand et 2. en français, et l'expression anglaise a été traduite en allemand par l'équivalent de "Le Mans est un must".
"can't let go of" seems oddly inappropriate for a motor race! A Gucci handbag, yes... my favourite Nike trainers, yes... but I confess I find it hard to see how this really works for the 24 h du Mans.
Also, I'm a bit confused by your statement that: « a été traduit en allemand par 'Le Mans est un must' » — unless I'm very much mistaken, that is FR, non ? So is it you who has then back-translated this into FR?
I can't help suspecting that in fact it was DE in the first place, and that the EN is a poor translation of the original DE text, which to me would make a lot more sense!
