This got posted before I was finished with my explanation. Fat fingers. We DO need more context. 'Transition feeding' is for animals, not people, and I'm assuming that your article is about human diets. A more direct way of saying it in English would be:

'The transition diet consists of ...'

"Alimentação" has entirely different syntactic valences in Portuguese than 'feeding' or 'eating' in English, so you are forced to do some gymnastics.

There are a lot of references for "transition diet" and "dietary transition." 'Dietary transition' applies to a number of different circumstances--for example, infants being weaned, people with health problems, people wanting to lose weight, people going on a raw food diet, people whose life circumstances force them to change their diet, etc. We could have helped you more if we could have seen more of your original text.
