Es geht um die zwei Kategorien von Headsets, die von Nokia und das von Apple.
Kontextsatz: The main difference between these two configurations is that the GND and Microphone bands of the headset are switched in position. In the Apple version, the Ring2 band is GND while the Sleeve band is the microphone. In the Nokia version, the Ring2 band is the microphone and the Sleeve band is GND.
Ich verstehe, dass die beiden sich darin unterscheiden, dass die Pole für Masse und die Pole für das Mikrofon sich an einer anderen Stelle (auf dem Stecker) befinden. Während bei der Apple Variante der zweite Pol der Erdung/Masse und der letzte dem Mikrofon entspricht, entspricht bei der Nokia Version der zweite Pol dem Mikrofon und der letzte der Masse/Erdung.
Aber das ist geraten.

If I were the technical writer of the same, I would say that, counting the tip as contact no. 1, the Apple version uses contact no. 4 as MIC and contact no. 3 as GND - whereas Nokia uses contact no. 3 as MIC and contact no. 4 as GND. Very simple IMHO.
