Bellavistino Explanation: Sugiero dejarlo en español, en mayúsculas y en singular, como lo escribiría un gringo :) Así se observan estos términos en la literatura turística. |

Bella Vista-style Explanation: "Mediterranean and Bella Villa style architectural elements". You find "Bellavistine Architectural Style" in this Panamanian site, but I wouldn't use it; it has clearly been taken straight from Spanish and is not an established term in English. http://turismo.panamatipico.com/english/articulo.php?articul... "Bella Vista-style, written like that, with Bella Vista capitalised and written as two words is much more convincing. "Bella Vista" is a proper name, of course, so it can't be translated. As an adjective preceding the noun it should be hyphenated (IMO), as in the second reference here: "Bella Vista style architecture meets an Italian Villa" http://www.mmpanamarealtors.com/index.php?pid=properties&tip... "Rediscovering the grandeur of Bella Vista Many Panamanians find it hard to believe that what today encompasses Panama City's ever-rising hotel and financial district was the heart of one of the most peaceful residential suburbs in Latin America only 40 years ago. [...] When giving directions, Panamanians often describe Bella Vista's old town houses and mansions as "colonial". The truth is that what some call "Bella Vista-style" architecture is actually a mixture of styles. Its most visible influence comes from the old Spanish “missions” of California, as well as the unpretentious, tropical housing styles of the former Panama Canal Zone and adaptations of neo-classical architecture. In the mindset of city dwellers ages 50 or more, Bella Vista represents grandeur and sophistication." http://www.focuspublicationsint.com/New_Site/Visitor12-15/sp... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 46 mins (2012-06-10 22:35:14 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sorry for the typo in the first line above: "Bella Vista-style", not "Bella Villa style". |
