This is from a Spanish refractory company's report on a repair project carried out on a cyclonic seperation machine at a cement factory in Saudi Arabia. The client wants UK English.

In the introduction it says:

El cliente muestra un gran descontento con nosotros; ya que debido al lamentable rendimiento, la escasez de personal cualificado y el corto plazo para ejecutar la obra, no se realizan todos los trabajos ofertados.
Aun así se asesora al cliente, para realizar el mismo trabajo, pero desde el exterior y mediante *encofrado (cajetín).*

Below this there is a picture of a technician laying concrete in a type of box (a trough maybe?) with metal formwork and using a trowel. I am guessing this is what they are talking about. Should I just call it box formwork? Has anyone ever seen this before? Thanks everyone!

Cajetín es el encofrado específicamente en forma de caja encerrada (para formar un dado de anclaje, etc...), pero no es un término especial.
Pero es opcional, no hay que mencionar particularmente lo del cajetín.
Mi sugerencia es que lo dejes simplemente en formwork, de otro modo podrías introducir un ruido innecesario en el inglés.

I don't think this is "encofrado cajetín" or "encofrado de cajetín", and so I don't think box formwork would be an appropriate translation. "cajetín" is in brackets in your text, and from the information I have found, it refers to a "pocket former" (using DYWIDAG terminology. It could be called something else in a different company's system).

The links I have provided contain photos/diagrams to give you an idea of what this is.

However, it would probably be best to ask the client to clarify which system they are using and what they mean exactly.

By the way, in case it is not obvious, I have provided the translation for cajetín only (pocket former). Encofrado, as you already know, is formwork

Asker: Thanks Nikki, in the end I spoke with the client and they wanted to say box formwork. They just phrased it oddly in the original. I may need "pocket former" for a future translation from them so thanks for bringing it up.
