television transmitters (voir question)

Thanks Tony for your comment but it remains unclear to me... As i said in certain sentences "transmitter" would be more "emetteur TV" and in others it would be more "diffuseur". Should i use both ? i'm a bit confused here...

It's not that the author has got confused, it's simply that FR has 2 words for only one term in EN. This is a relatively new extension to the meaning of the word in EN, since it doesn't exactly mean just 'a company that transmits' (= a broadcaster), but actually a concept that is slightly different, given the way TV delivery methods have changed in recent years. Hence why a new word was needed, but they perhaps foolishly decided to re-use an old one :-(

se pourrait-il que l'auteur confonde les termes "émetteurs" (= appareil utilisé pour la transmission) avec "diffuseurs" (= sociétés qui diffusent) ??? Plus je lis les phrases et plus j'ai un doute... ex : It is therefore mandatory to include the most important public radio and television transmitters in the standard package....
