dans le motif / thème de (et d'ailleurs je préfère "selon le motif / thème de" me semble vouloir dire que la décoration de la montre est faite sur le modèle de la statue, alors que celle-ci n'a été qu'une source d'inspiration pour les créateurs, de par sa modernité plastique sans doute

I imagine that 'progress toward the future' is in some way symbolized by this new statue.
However, I suppose it is also just possible that this 'lustrous metallic silver finish' is in some way in the shape of this same statue; a design based on the statue...
The language is potentially rather odd, I wonder if you know the provenance of this 'English' text? I'm thinking possibly Far East...? 'in' seems an odd word to use for a 'salon' (in most instances that spring to mind, I'd have expected 'at' for example), and this could also explain the potentially odd use of 'in the motif of' — the writer might have been trying to say 'in the form of', or 'in the shape of'...
