: The traditional meaning for the French "animateur" (as in BAFA) is more like "youth group leader" or "children's activity leader" or "playgroup leader". But the rest of the sentence doesn't really fit that meaning.

I originally gave playgroup leader as an answer, but realised it didn't really work here given the phrase "Mauvaise connaissance des animateurs locaux de l’importance du jeu dans le développement des enfants"

: "Animateur" is being used with an unusually wider meaning here. It is referring perhaps to the providers and maybe even the workers (the latter being the more usual meaning). However, I like "professionals" here as it covers providers and workers.

Pour le texte que j'ai. Car animateur a plein d'autres sens - principalement ce que cchat donne plus bas en parlant du BAFA.
C'est un terme que je trouve d'ailleurs assez difficile à traduire - Il a un sens tellement spécifique en français.
