Como quem vê um Deus e nunca ousa
Amá-lo mais que como a um Deus se ama
Diante da beleza
Façamo-nos divinos.

Eu compreendo assim:

Há uma comparação: autor compara uma pessoa, que vê um Deus, e “nós”, quem estão diante da beleza. Esta primeira pessoa, que vê um Deus, não consegue ama-lo mais do que:

1. é permitido amar Deus;
2. este Deus ama esta pessoa

Para mim a variante 1º é mais provável.

Assim “nós”, quando estivermos diante da beleza, façamo-nos divinos.
