Je doute que ton contexte impose l'utilisation d'un terme plus précis que ça (quart-arrière en chambre?) surtout si le texte est destiné à un public hors de l'Amérique du Nord. La solution proposée est attestée dans "Les mots pour le traduire" de Luc Labelle, ainsi que dans plusieurs sites fiables (voir ci-dessous). "Sportif sur canapé" me semble être un calque.
