Spanish term or phrase: facilidades de inmigración
Contexto:

The government deems the Church and its members deserving or preferential treatment in matters of education, taxation, immigration, and other benefits.

As MollyRose pointed out, it should be "deserving of preferential treatment." The "or" is a typo.

ease of immigration

Explanation:
Previously, many of the clergy in Latin America were brought from Spain or Italy, and so needed permission to immigrate. This was made easy for them, as a privilege for the Church.

-> If you read it again, you will see that I incorporated the earlier "preferential treatment" in my suggestion, so it is used only once.

agree  MollyRose: Any of these answers would work, but I agree that this sentence sounds better. Except change "or" to "of" ... deserving OF preferential treatment....

-> Of course. That was a typo. Thanks for pointing it out
