agree  Charmaine Kizzie: Ich würde hier auch definitiv "Kinofilme" verwenden. Ich bin mit Peters Kommentar oben bei der Diskussion einverstanden. Im US-Sprachraum verbindet man "film" mit Kunst, einem ausländischen Film, Dokumentarfilm....aber keinem Blockbuster.

Explanation:
They are interchangeable; in the US for example the word "film" is rarely used and "movie" is the standard term. Both are umbrella terms for all kinds of movies / films, just like the German "Film".

Meines Wissens gibt es keinen praktischen Unterschied zwischen "film" und "movie". Der Begriff "film" ist älter (Filmmaterial) und der Begriff "Movie" wird mehr im US-amerikanischen Sprachraum verwendet.

Der Longman's Dictionary of Contemporary English beschreibt beide wie folgt: "film (especially British English), movie (especially American English): a series of images that tell a story and are shown in a cinema or on TV."

Ich würde also mit Filme übersetzen: "haben Sie Filme gesehen oder Fernsehen geschaut...."
